All the family friendly rental holiday cottages at la Grange du Moulin have full access to the enclosed play garden. Of course there are also the two heated swimming pools, one which is specifically for toddlers. The heated swimming pool area is completely enclosed and has a child safety latch on the gate and is also alarmed to conform with French swimming pool safety regulations.
The Grenier holiday rental cottage sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms and has the bathroom on the same floor as the master and single bedrooms. There is one double room with king sized bed (160x200)and a single room on the first floor and also a spacious attic bedroom with two single beds and space for a travel cot too (provided free of charge on request)
There's a large enclosed play garden filled with toys and we hold children and toddler activities each week such as pottery and fabric painting.
When we say child friendly we mean we are baby, child, toddler and family friendly!

Grenier family holiday cottage is a characterful three-story gîte at La Grange du Moulin, originally built as a grain store. With its exposed stone walls across all three floors and thick traditional masonry, it offers a cool, cellar-like retreat from the summer sun, alongside excellent views of the play garden.
Living & Dining Area
The ground floor offers a comfortable self-catering setup with a fully equipped kitchen area:
- Kitchen Appliances: Dishwasher, 4-ring gas hob, worktop electric oven/grill, microwave, fridge-freezer, and electric kettle.
- Cookware & Tableware: Fully stocked with basic crockery, cutlery, and essential self-catering cookware, plus dedicated children's plastic items and a hand blender for purees.
Family, Safety & Child-Friendly Features
- Included Gear: Cot (fits in any bedroom), high chair, booster seat, changing mat, potty, toilet trainer seat, toddler step, stair safety barriers, toys, and books.
- Property Safety: Situated next to a very quiet lane used only by guests and neighbors. The main gate remains locked for added safety, used only occasionally for guest arrival.
Bedrooms & Bathroom
An open-tread, cast-iron spiral staircase links all three floors:
- First Floor - Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with a chest of drawers and hanging space.
- First Floor - Bedroom 2: Single bedroom with a chest of drawers and hanging space.
- Second Floor - Bedroom 3 (Attic): Spacious open attic bedroom with two single beds, a small wardrobe, and a set of drawers.
- Bathroom (First Floor): Modern bathroom equipped with a bath, shower attachment, toilet, basin, strong water pressure, and plenty of hot water.
Parent Note on Attic Bedroom: Due to the spiral staircase down to the first-floor bathroom, we recommend the top-floor attic room for older children, or for babies sleeping safely in a cot. Stair safety barriers are provided.

Our family holiday rental properties with heated swimming pools are located in the heart of the French countryside with lovely views all around. Perfect for a relaxing child friendly family holiday. Centrally located in the Charente Maritime department of SW France, we are an easy drive to hundreds of km of sandy beaches. The Charente Maritime is also easy to get to with airports in la Rochelle, Bordeaux, Nantes, Poitiers and Limoges all accessible. The nearest port to the Charente Maritime is the French port of St Malo.
Grenier family holiday cottage has a patio to the rear with 2 seater drinks table so you can relax and watch the stars come out with a glass of wine once the children are in bed. It also has a garden table and chairs with parasol and bbq to the front so you can relax and even read a book, whilst your children make new friends in the safely enclosed play garden.
There is a communal laundry room with several washing machines a tumble dryer and a rotary dryer in the garden - free of charge. Each gite has an iron and board.
